Brownie Pan Size Converter

Enter the pan named in your recipe and the pan you want to use. The converter calculates base area and the batter multiplier required to keep approximately the same average depth.

What the scaling factor means

The converter changes every measurement to a common unit, calculates the base area, then divides target area by source area. If the target has 1.50 times the area, approximately 1.50 times as much batter preserves the same average depth.

This relationship assumes the pans have broadly similar wall geometry and enough height to contain the scaled batter. It does not mean baking time should also be multiplied by 1.50.

Why baking time is separate

Heat reaches a thin layer faster than a thick one, but pan material, colour, oven calibration, recipe composition and intended doneness all affect the endpoint. Use the Bake Adjustment Guide after choosing the pan.
